Mala Kamala

Several years ago, when the presidential race was between my Trumpy and Hillary, I was working as a caregiver for the elderly.

During that time, we had a resident who was my kinda gal. She was funny, saucy, outrageous and Jewish.

I absolutely loved her.

Her well grown daughter told me once, “She either loves you or hates you!”

Well, it turns out this resident absolutely loved me back!

On the days I worked, she always wanted me to help her with everything and I was the only one who could do her showers.

On average, residents are scheduled two showers a week. This resident cancelled for good the one shower that was scheduled during the side of the week when I was not working.

When she got put on hospice, and all shower care would then belong to them, nope, this resident said, “Only Missy can do my showers!”

And so it was.

One day, this resident’s daughter arrived with a pair of Hillary knee high socks for her.

I love wearing cute and funny knee high socks myself, so I gave the daughter points for getting these for her mom, although Hillary is definitely not my kinda gal.

I especially loved the fact that even though this resident was close to death’s door, she was talking politics.

One day, she went too far.

We were in her room talking politics, when she lovingly said to me, “You should vote for Hillary, she’s a woman.”

I was shocked that such a shallow reason could come from such an intelligent mouth.

I lovingly said back to her, “I would never vote for a woman just because she’s a woman!”

She didn’t say anything, but we held each other’s eyes for a moment…

So, yeah. Just like I wouldn’t vote for a woman just because I’m a woman, I wouldn’t vote for a Hispanic just because I’m Hispanic.

There’s no such thing as a perfect candidate. You just go for the next best thing.

Kamala is not the next best thing.

When she first ran for president, I was surprised by how quickly she dropped out. She said it was because her campaign didn’t have the money to continue.

Apparently, the American people weren’t buying into her.

But then she struck gold when Biden picked her for his VP.

They made a terrible couple.

Let’s talk about food and gas prices. Everyone knows the cost of everything has gone up.

Many times I look at receipts that my husband has been blessed enough to afford, and I will ask him, “How are families with kids making it?”

I can remember reading too often about people having to make a choice between buying food or gas for the week.

There is no excuse for this.

Just like there is no excuse for our broken border. I read a headline from around a year ago that said there were more illegal crossings in one year under Biden/Kamala than under Trump’s four years.

Kamala has yet to make a difference in our lives as VP, what makes you think she is going to make a difference in our lives as president?

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I have this reoccurring fantasy in my head about a reporter asking me what I think about Kamala.

In this fantasy I always answer back, “When I think about Kamala and all that she hasn’t done as VP for the American people and me being a chica, I think, Eeee, que mala!”
