Is Your House in Order?

Welcome back dear reader.

I’ve been away from blogging for two weeks and so, it’s good to be back too.

In case you didn’t know, my husband and I did a road trip from Arizona to Nashville, Tennessee.

At first, I thought that I would still write while away, but then I decided that you could use a break from me too.

” Well, here we are again, I guess it must be fate… ”

And fate has a question!

When you go on vacation, is there anything in particular that you do before taking off that helps you feel better?

For me, it’s leaving the house as clean as possible.

Is it ever left perfect? No.

In around the 14 years we have lived at this house, only once have I been able to say that it was 100% clean from top to bottom, from front yard to back, including the garage.

Including the baseboards.

Cleaning before going on a vacation is a blessing in disguise for me.

It pushes me to take care of things that I keep putting off.

Like wiping down all the doors and their frames upstairs.

Or cleaning all the dust out of the one tub we don’t use.

There’s nothing like coming home from a vacation to a clean enough house!

Another reason why I have to leave the house clean enough before we go on a vacation is because I always think, what if we got in an accident that involved someone having to bring us home from the hospital and they had to help us get situated in our house?

I always tell Shawn, I can handle being embarrassed about a not so perfectly clean house, but I would never want to be ashamed of the way our house looked.

All this talk about our house, makes me think about another house. A more important house. My spiritual house.

Is my spiritual house in order?

If Jesus came back today, would he find my spiritual house clean enough?

Every day when I pray, I always ask God to help me to be ready to stand before him come my judgement day.

When I pray for my family, I ask God to help us all to be ready for his coming that is so near.
