Lord willing, my husband, Shawn will be turning 50 in a couple of days.
The thought of Shawn turning 50 this year is wreaking havoc on my little brain.
But, in a good way.
Shawn was 17 when we started dating. I was 16, but about to turn 17.
He is almost three months older than me.
We were both 22 years old when we got married and by the shaking of hands, we are still together!
So yeah, him turning 50 is a big deal.
In anticipation of this event, I am sharing with you a post I shared on Facebook in 2016.
I hope it makes you smile like it made me smile when Shawn said what he said to me. If it doesn’t, please call our hotline at 1-800-MAKEMESMILE.
You will not need your seat belt for this reading, it’s that short…
” Of Mice and Dogs…I let the dogs in the garage to get a drink of water. I notice something in Felipe’s water bowl, and I let out a war cry for everyone to stop what they’re doing. Thank God he had not started drinking. It’s two baby mice. One looks like he/she had drowned and the other one is dog paddling for its life. I shoo the dogs back into the house and I think about scooping the live one out to give peace a chance, but I call Shawn instead. He makes me feel better, reminding me of the diseases etc., they carry but it still makes me sad, and I tell him this. He replies, ” What’s sad is their mom dropping them off at the pool and not staying to watch them! “

That sounds like Shawn. Happy birthday to you, Shawn Wead. Barbie and Bridget’s triplet brother. Lol
I remember telling Shawn way back in the day that it was too bad he didn’t have sisters. I thought if he had had sisters, it would have helped prepare him for what it was like living with a girl when we got married.
